Bundi City Guide
Bundi, a picturesque little town of the desert state of Rajasthan, The town is situated 35 km from Kota and 210 km from Jaipur. The town lies near a narrow gorge, and is surrounded on three sides by hills of the Aravalli Range. Bundi was previously called "Bunda-Ka-Nal".

It is known for its palaces, forts, water tanks and step well reservoirs known as baoris. The monuments and the architecture reflect the grandeur of the local Rajput rulers. The walls of the palaces at Bundi are decorated with frescoes revealing the glory of its rulers.

Attractions of Bundi :
Taragarh Fort : The Fort offers a panoramic view of the city of Bundi situated in Nagpahari of Aravalli range. Taragarh Fort draws millions of visitors from world each year. The fort contains three tanks which never dry up.

Bundi Palace : The Bundi Palace is situated on the hillside nearby to the Taragarh Fort. It is notable for its generous traditional murals and frescoes. The Chitrashala, the picture gallery of the palace is open to the general public and houses some of the superb paintings.

Raniji ki Baori : This is one of the largest baori or step well of Rajasthan and it has intricately carved paintings.

Nawal Sagar : The Nawal Sagar is located in the heart of Bundi city. It is a large squared man-made lake containing many small islets. In the middle of the lake there is a temple dedicated to Varuna, the Vedic god of water.

Dabhai Kund : This Kund or the Jail kund is the largest of the kunds of Bundi. This is one of the popular tourist destinations of the city.

Other attraction : Some of the other places to visit in Bundi are Sukh Mahal, Jait Sagar Lake, Phool Sagar Lake, Keshar Bagh, Chaurasi Khambon ki Chhatri, Bardha Dam, etc.

Air : Bundi does not have an airport. The nearest airport is in Jaipur from where tourists can take bus for Bundi which can be covered in 5 hours run.
