The Khajuraho dance festival is organized by Eicher and Madhya Pradesh Kala Parishad, with an aim to make the cultural heritage of Khajuraho relevant to the present society and preserving it for the coming generation. For this purpose it draws the best classical dancers in the country every year. It showcases various classical styles of Indian dance such as Kathak, Bharat Natyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Manipuri and Kathakali. Every evening, two accomplished artists from different genres perform in the open-air auditorium. Besides the dance performances, visitors and tourists can buy local handmade garments and articles in an open market space. Light and Sound Show at the western group of Temples :

The show is organized to tell the story of the life and times of the great Chandela Kings and traces the history of the unique temples from the 10th Century to the present day. The mesmerizing voice of none other than the legendry Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan, narrates the story of Khajuraho to add to the thrill of the glittering evening.

Mounted in the complex of the Western Group of temples, the 50-minute show runs in Hindi and in English every evening.
